About the role
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Pest Control Officer to join the Grain Protection team, based from our Yarrawonga site. This is not just pest control, it's specialised Grain Protection, safeguarding GrainCorp's grain supply.
You’ll report to the Grain Protection Supervisor and travel to sites in the region to:
- Inspect site infrastructure and storage assets for hygiene and cleanliness
- Monitor and carry out a wide range of pest control and fumigation procedures
- Direct activities of pest control trainees / assistants that support this role
- Provide expert advice and training as required, to site staff in the region.
- Undertake work in compliance with relevant safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Completing reporting, audit and other activities as required.

About your experience
This position is a rewarding career for someone with a keen interest in a technical career path. Ideally, you'll have some experience in trades and services, building and construction, transport and logistics, or agriculture.
HOWEVER, if you don't have the experience but you do have a genuine passion or interest in the grains and wider agricultural industry - we want to hear from you!
You will have an unrestricted driver’s licence, and ideally a H or M class licence.
This role also requires someone who is organised, has some level of computer skills and is detailed focused.
The willingness to travel and be away from home for short periods at a time is essential as is the capacity to work at heights and in confined spaces.
