This is an opportunity to play a part in that story by:

  • Oversee the operation of analytical laboratory tests, manage all internal and external test results, and ensure that all laboratory functions are executed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide support to the QA Technicians with testing and cover the lab tasks in their absence
  • Training / re-train other people as required on analytical methods
  • Provide support to all external teams (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance logistics, Customer Service etc) on all matters relating to food safety, quality, and legality
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory, customer and company requirements (participate in audit preperations)
  • Coordinate regulatory and in house sampling programs – imported oils testing, AOF test check, Proficiency Test, Trade waste, and stormwater samples
  • Ensure all fats and oils are tested and results are provided in a timely manner and within specification
  • Follow, review, and update Lab documentation – test methods, SOPs, and specifications
  • Participate in HACCP team reviews, GMP implementation activities, and risk assessment
  • Actively support the Shipping/Trading Team by managing export oil COAs and extra samples required
  • Provide assistance to ensure DIFOT and NRFT targets are achieved
  • Ensure Lab equipment is calibrated as required
  • Troubleshooting as required to address laboratory or equipment issues

 

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proactive and highly organised, with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, changeable environment

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach

  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with a wide range of internal stakeholders and some external contacts

  • Essential background in Quality (QC), with experience overseeing quality-related activities (preferred)

  • Proven ability to work autonomously while also responding well to direction and guidance

  • Strong experience supporting production or operational environments
