About the role

Reporting to the Manufacutring Manager and based at our West Footscray site, this positon manages a team of up to 15 individuals in the day shift. The shift is from 7am through to 3pm and will require the Team Leader to focus on leading, encouraging, managing and directing operations to achieve the daily production plan.

You will be also responsible for longer term initiatives such as continuous improvement in both plant and process, identifying training needs and be able to analyse production results and process data to identify improvements and/or trouble shoot processing conditions, lead formal problem solving and implement corrective actions. 

About your experience

You are a person that is a leader with a clear vision of where the packing room is heading and capable of inspiring and motivating direct reports to achieve the desired goals. A leader that will ensure that all personnel are empowered and supported to strive to do their best at all times, while ensuring they have all resources required to perform their role, safely, meeting appropriate quality standards, and running efficiently.

Other key skills essential for this position are:

  • Managed a multiple shift operation
  • Exposure to and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles (leader standard work, 5S, visual management, lean daily meetings)
  • High computer literacy required in Outlook (E-mail), Microsoft – Excel, Word and Powerpoint and SAP
  • Demonstrated mechanical/electrical and processing aptitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexible working hours
  • Able to identify, analyse and solve problems through formal continuous improvement tools
  • Able to work independently
