About the role We are currently seeking a Grain Handler for an immediate start at our site in Trangie, NSW (working at other nearby sites as required) in a permanent capacity.
The core activities of a grain handler include:
Sampling/receiving grain at site (spearing using automatic or manual spears and then testing for protein, moisture and contaminants against specifications, entering data into our system)
Monitoring the flow of grain from truck unloading and onto hopper, auger or other equipment
Protecting and storing grain in bunkers or permanent silo storage (includes building, breaking-down and tarping bunkers)
Sweeping, shovelling, blowing down dust and other general housekeeping activities including site presentation
Operating equipment including augers, tractors, hoppers, loaders.
About your experience Candidates will have prior experience in general labouring and have the ability to work in confined spaces at times (ideally you will hold a working in confined spaces certificate). Candidates will also display:
Good communication skills
Safety-conscious behaviour
A forklift, front- end loader ticket or an HR Truck licence will be advantageous
Reliability
Computer literacy
