About our team

Our unique mix of agribusiness and processing operations connects grain growers with domestic and international customers, to process grain and oilseeds into food and feed ingredients. As the largest grain storage and handling network on the east coast of Australia, we operate more than 150 regional receival sites and seven bulk port terminals.


We store and market wheat, barley, canola, sorghum and specialty commodities, connecting over 10,000 growers with more than 1,000 end-market customers across the food, beverage, edible oils and animal feed industries. Feeding the world is a big responsibility and partnering with growers and customers to meet this challenge is what drives us to improve and evolve.

About the role

This role has a salary package of up to $105,000 which includes potential bonus. This role also comes with a tool of trade vehicle. 
 

Reporting to the Quality Services Manager and based from our offices at Temora the role of Field Quality Officer will:
 

  • Process harvest, storage, outturn, and other grain samples as required to provide quality information to GrainCorp and customers
  • Ensure that grain quality systems within the GNC Country network are operating at a satisfactory level and rectifying or reporting problems. These systems include OHS, Grain Standards, training, sampling and testing equipment, site hygiene, environmental considerations and compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Maintain and calibrate quality testing equipment utilised at GrainCorp sites (for example, chondrometers)
  • Manage and/or support internal and external audit processes
  • Train and assess staff ensuring competency and compliance with training standards
  • Provide support to other areas in Quality Assurance and across the company
  • Carry out physical stocktake and quality stocktakes at country sites and where identified.

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has solid experience in grain quality assessment (including sound applied knowledge of receival and outturn standards and grain quality testing systems and procedures). Alternatively, you have a sound understanding of commodity testing including sampling methods and processes, testing equipment calibration and maintenance.

You should have excellent communication and planning skills. You ideally have ‘verifier’ training / accreditation (per Department of Trade Measurement licensing) though this is not essential. Although not essential a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment would be useful.

A current clean driver’s licence and the ability and willingness to travel within Southern NSW region (a tool of trade motor vehicle is provided as a requirement of this role) will be appreciated.

Preferred candidates will be required to provide proof of working rights, suitable professional referees and will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical.
