About the role

GrainCorp is currently seeking a Senior Paralegal, based at our office in the Sydney CBD, to join our Legal & Company Secretariat team. In this role you will provide support to the Legal Team and the Company Secretary, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting in the development of, and maintaining, repository of precedents for the Legal Team and Company Secretary
  • Managing document execution and maintaining the deeds register
  • Overseeing business name and trademark registrations and renewals 
  • Preparing standard agreements using templates (e.g. confidentiality agreements)
  • Proactively assisting the Company Secretary in ensuring all requirements of ASIC are fully met (including but not limited to preparing subsidiary resolutions, attending to filings with ASIC and other regulators, maintaining accurate and up to date company records and registers)
  • Managing certain Board processes including scheduling Board and Committee meetings, assisting with the preparation of draft agendas and assisting in compiling and sending Board and Committee papers 
  • Co-ordinating and managing team and key stakeholder meetings (including scheduling, setting agendas and circulating papers/reports)
  • General administration support to the Group General Counsel, Company Secretary and Legal Team
  • General research tasks 
  • Undertaking special projects from time to time as required

About your experience

Candidates will have prior experience in a legal/company secretarial environment in an ASX listed organisation or experience in private practice with a commercial focus. 

Candidates will also display:

  • Ability to work under pressure and with competing demands

  • High level of proficiency in using MS office suite
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a police, credit and bankruptcy check.
