About the role
Based at International Towers Barangaroo, one of Australia’s most sustainable and award-winning workplaces, with the flexibility of 3 days in-office and 2 days working from home, this Payroll Team Leader role will see you working collaboratively to deliver exact payments to our employees - this includes the facilitation of payroll processing for wages employees across multiple agreements, and a significant seasonal employee base.

Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Supervising the payroll team and provide leader review and sign off where required
  • Coordinating the deliverables across the team and facilitate required support
  • Communicate effectively by providing advice and support to internal business partners, team members and third parties
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with corporate functions and business area partners
  • Role model and support the continuous improvement of payroll processes, services and systems 
  • Prepare induction plans for new starters and support training and development plans across the team
  • Support KPI reporting requirements to track team performance
  • Support relevant projects across the business as well as payroll-specific initiatives with requirements gathering, documentation, testing and rollout.

 

About your experience
Our ideal candidate brings strong technical payroll expertise gained in an Australian corporate payroll environment, including experience interpreting EBAs and managing payroll compliance. Beyond technical capability, we’re looking for someone with proven leadership experience and a clear understanding of what good leadership looks like — someone who can support, influence, and develop team members while consistently delivering high-quality payroll services.

You’ll also have:
 

  • Solid previous functional experience with SAP HCM Payroll, or another Tier 1 system
  • Solid functional experience with Kronos or another time and attendance system
  • Proven ability to manage payroll-related projects and initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written 
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel.
