Purpose:

Lead GrainCorp’s Infrastructure Operations function onshore and international sites ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable technology services across our cloud and onprem environments, while driving continuous improvement and modernisation across platforms.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and uplift GrainCorp’s global cloud and onprem infrastructure operations.
  • Ensure high availability, strong cybersecurity alignment, and operational resilience across all regions.
  • Deliver major infrastructure projects including cloud migrations, DR uplift, security enhancements and ERP/SAP initiatives.
  • Oversee daytoday operational performance, SLAs, technical governance, and change management.
  • Provide technical leadership across Azure, virtualisation, networking, identity, OT, and security.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Systems Engineers and Network Specialists across multiple geographies.
  • Manage vendors, contracts, renewals, budgets, cloud spend (FinOps), and hardware lifecycle programs.
  • Drive standardisation, automation, and documentation improvements to uplift operational maturity.
  • Maintain patching compliance across the infrastructure landscape
  • Lead, review, respond and apply actions resulting for various infrastructure assessment 

 

About You

You're a seasoned IT professional with a passion for infrastructure excellence and team leadership. You thrive in dynamic environments where strategic thinking meets hands-on problem-solving. You're comfortable managing complex stakeholder relationships while driving technological innovation. Your natural leadership style inspires teams to achieve exceptional results, and you have a proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

 

You will bring:

  • 8–10+ years of experience across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and IT operations
  • Deep Azure capability (Landing Zones, networking, identity, security, automation).
  • Strong on‑prem expertise (Hyper‑V/Nutanix, Windows Server, SAN storage, backups, DR). 
  • Proven leadership across operational teams, vendors, risk reduction, and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with responsibility for budgets, forecasting, cloud cost optimisation, and cost control.
  • Experience improving documentation, governance, and high‑availability environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication skills, and ability to influence outcomes.
  • Ideally, exposure to OT/SCADA or industrial environments (a plus, not essential)
