GrainCorp is currently seeking a Desk Assistant, based at our Barangaroo office, to enable accurate valuation of our trading books, timely and accurate verification of contracts and track settlement for our customers.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Verification of physical & derivative trade contracts
- Running daily end of day in trading system
- Timely and accurate processing and settlement of grain received/sold to counterparties for Track contracts and washouts.
- Settle derivative contracts and perform a daily reconciliation of derivative positions. Work with the traders for any unreconciled items
- Early start time, 7:30-7:45am is required
About your experience
Our ideal candidate has a relevant degree in agriculture, commerce or agricultural economics and some experience gained in a commodity trading environment.
Alternatively, you’ve completed your degree, can demonstrate a genuine interest in ag commodities/trading and a willingness to learn and grow in our industry.
Other attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and respect for accurate and complete work
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work independently to plan / prioritise work
- Good communication skills as this role will collaborate with key stakeholders as required including traders, shared services, contract co-ordinators and the risk & commercial finance team
- Experience in Trading systems will be beneficial
