GrainCorp is currently seeking a Data Scientist to work with a motivated and collaborative team to lead data science and AI activities to support advanced analytic use cases’ success. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions
  • Develop, build, and deploy machine learning models
  • Utilize Apache Spark and Azure Cloud for large-scale data processing and model deployment
  • Write efficient and maintainable Python code for data manipulation and model development
  • Communicate findings and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders


About your experience
Candidates will have a strong analytical foundation and a passion for leveraging data science to solve business challenges. Candidates will also display:  

  • Communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
  • Data analysis skills, capable of interpreting data and generating actionable insights
  • Hands-on experience in model build and deployment, particularly in machine learning
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Apache Spark and Azure Cloud platform
  • Experience with Power BI for data visualization
  • Degree qualified in STEM field

 

About your skills
Technical:

  • Hands-on experience in developing and implementing various machine learning models and statistical techniques
  • Proficiency in programming languages, primarily Python, and experience in data manipulation
  • Experience working with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop and knowledge of SQL for extracting and manipulating large datasets
  • Experience working with Azure Cloud platform
