About the role

Lead our AP Shared Services team in the delivery of professional, efficient and compliant services to over 10,000 active vendors.

Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, this critical position will lead, coach and develop a team of 10+ professionals with specific responsibility for:

  • Ensuring prompt and efficient payment of company accounts, and that appropriate policies, authority and procedures are adhered to with respect to the procurement and authorisation of purchases
  • Implementing best practice account payable systems and processes that enable and efficient and streamlined AP function
  • Maintaining relationships and providing support to Corporate Finance and Business Managers
  • Communicating with staff and management regarding accounts payable processes/procedures/issues
  • Project management of system and process enhancements / upgrades that improve service delivery, developing a culture of continuous improvement across the AP team.

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has deep experience gained within the AP function of a large, complex commercial operation supported by a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or similar. 

You’ve successfully led, engaged and enhanced the performance of an AP team, employing a highly analytical, systematic and conscientious approach to achieve exceptional performance and commercial outcomes.

Additionally, you’ll have:

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and problem solving ability
  • Exceptional stakeholder and customer management skills
  • Proven skill and experience in end-to-end project management
  • Proven delivery of continuous improvement initiatives in any capacity
  • AP / finance / procurement systems experience, eg. SAP, Oracle
