Auscol has been leading the used cooking oil industry in Australia for the last 50 years.  Today we are proud to help more than 5,000 Australian restaurants, fast-food outlets, food manufacturers and shopping centres meet their waste cooking oil collection obligations and ensure their cooking oil is given a second life.

About the role


Based out of Auscol’s Riverstone NSW facility and reporting to the State Manager, our Vehicle Operators provide a safe and efficient service collecting used cooking oil across Greater Sydney and Regional NSW.

We service a wide range of businesses from small through to larger-scale commercial food operators such as KFC for example. Week to week, you can expect to be moving anywhere from 2,000-3,000 L of oil between customers and our depot.

Vehicle Operators are employed under the Road Transport and Distribution Award 2010, with a span of hours that will see you driving M-F anywhere between 8-10 hours (up to a maximum of 12 hours in any shift) with a 1-hour break. There will also be 1-2 overnight trips per fortnight (between Riverstone to as far as Port Macquarie, Orange and Eden).

Other aspects of the job:
 

  • Professional driving: exhibit a safe, professional and positive driving persona at all times
  • Safety: adhere to Auscol and customer safety requirements; adhere to all legislated safe driving and fatigue management requirements; report and act on hazards, safety incidents and near misses
  • Truck maintenance: pre-start checklist; report and document truck non-conformances
  • Customer service: ensure customer equipment is neat, clean and operating correctly (report any issues to office); adhere to customer safety and other requirements on site.

About your experience


We’re seeking a professional and reliable individual with a current, clean HR licence and solid experience in a similar professional driving role. You should have a sound understanding of the principles of fatigue management and safe driving / safe working practices.

As an ambassador of Auscol, we’ll appreciate your professional presentation and positive demeanour under pressure in order to deliver a great customer experience at every interaction.

We use iPads to coordinate our run schedule and daily reporting and you’ll either have the skills to use technology like this or the ability / willingness to learn.

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, preferred candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical (including professional driver medical). A vehicle licence check will also be performed.
