About us
Auscol plays a critical role in the collection of used cooking oil as a source material for production of reduced carbon emissions biodiesel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. As part of a GrainCorp end-to-end supply chain that sources and processes edible oils for use in in food production and food service, Auscol closes the loop by upcycling the subsequent Used Cooking Oil. Providing equipment, transport and service solutions for that collection and upcycling, Auscol works with an extensive customer base across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. We supply storage tanks, operate a fleet of high-tech vacuum collection trucks, and maintain an unrivalled inland and portside processing and bulk storage network. And we do this to the highest international standards.
Auscol is compliant with International Standards of Quality Systems (ISO certification for Safety, Quality & Environment), International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) and Feed Safety accreditation (ARA). This gives our customers confidence that their used cooking oil is being managed responsibly and is joining the fight against climate change.
About the role
We are seeking a leader to head a customer-focused national operational team, delivering efficient and effective management, execution, and optimisation of all operational activities across Australia. The role ensures compliance with SHEQ, Australian Renderers Association accreditation, International Sustainability and Carbon certification, and traceability requirements, while driving a continuous improvement mindset across the network. This includes optimising assets and resources to maximise utilisation and implementing efficiencies wherever possible.
You will provide operational support to the sales function to achieve organic growth, retention targets, and related activities, while maintaining the quality of collection data and supporting services information throughout the entire supply chain. A key focus of this role is developing the national team and fostering a high level of engagement to support ongoing success. Other key responsibilities include the management of;
- Fleet – Tankers, service vehicles, mobile equipment, company vehicles
- People – Regional Operations Managers, Vehicle Operators, Service Technicians, and Terminal Staff
- Contractors - Collection, transportation, storage, processing and maintenance activities
- Customer Equipment – Sourcing, delivery, installation, customer training and equipment maintenance and refurbishment
- Terminal operations – Direct management for Auscol owned and operated facilities, and contract management of outsourced activities
- Equipment and Stock – Proactive management of all equipment, stock and spare parts to support requirements for customer equipment, terminal operations and vehicles
- Customer Service & Operational Support - Proactive management of all customer service, administrative and operational activities
About your experience
Our successful candidate will come to us with a strong track record in safety, leadership, operational delivery, and ability to drive cultural change. Your experience can come from industries such as; Fleet, Logisitcs or Manufacturing. You will also have;
- Excellent negotiation and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- Experience in developing and delivering training, leading, coaching and mentoring national teams
- Demonstrated hands on leadership and technical expertise in logistics & asset management
- Experience in a business that has maintained ISO9001, AS 45001 and AS14001 external accreditation
- Confidence and experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement at all levels, including customers and contractors
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
- Ability to build rapport at all levels (internally and externally)
- Time management and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Determined, resilient and results focused
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- High degree of motivation and energy
