About the roles
We have multiple permanent, full-time positions offered under our current enterprise agreement at Port of Brisbane.
Terminal Operators at our port-side grain terminals are critical to ensuring that we deliver an efficient and safe service in exporting and importing grains and other commodities. This includes wheat, barley, sorghum, pulses, woodchips, cement, sand and other products.
The core activities of a terminal operator include rail and road receival, shipping, road-outloading, plant hygiene, container packing, bunker storage operations and grain assessing, among others. As a member of a multi skilled work environment you will be expected to take on other activities within the plant in accordance with training and experience.
We provide you with the tools and training required to perform your job effectively and safely. We’re also proud to provide genuine opportunities for our people to take on more responsibility, allowing them to progress further, if desired.
About your experience
We’re seeking individuals with experience in plant operations in any industry or the ability / willingness to do this type of work. Additionally:
• Flexibility to work nights / weekends when the terminal operates 24/7
• Good communication, teamwork and customer service skills
• Capacity to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Bonus: Loader, forklift or skid-steer experience (desirable but not essential)
