About the role
With a flexible location on offer (Fisherman Island/Carrington/Geelong) we are looking for a Reliability Manager to join our team to ensure maximum plant and equipment availability, asset integrity, and cost-effective maintenance strategies across GrainCorp’s Grains operations by driving reliability programs, leading technical teams, and optimizing maintenance processes in alignment with safety and production goals.
Key responsibilities include;
- Asset Reliability Strategy: Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs and asset lifecycle strategies
- Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze equipment history, failure modes, and KPIs to drive root cause analysis (RCA) and proactive maintenance
- Lead cross-functional teams including maintenance, engineering, and operations to align reliability goals
- Champion initiatives such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), lean maintenance, Six Sigma, and predictive technologies
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies
- Leverage CMMS, EAM, and condition monitoring tools to optimize maintenance planning and execution
- Develop and manage 5 year major maintenance and Capex plans and cost-saving initiatives
- Develop, implement, govern, and improve Equipment Maintenance Strategies and Asset Management Plans
- Coach and support regional maintenance reams in reliability practices and take the lead in RCA and PMI Optimisation
About your experience
Our successful candidate will come to us with solid maintenance and reliability experience in a heavy industry. Other key skills and experiences we are looking for include;
- Tertiary qualifications ideally in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical/electrical systems, asset management, and maintenance best practices.
- Problem Solving: Strong RCA skills using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA.
- Data Analysis: Ability to interpret equipment performance data and trends using software (Excel, Power BI, SAP, etc.).
- Project Management: Experience managing large-scale maintenance or capital projects.
- Communication: Excellent at influencing stakeholders, presenting data-driven recommendations, and leading teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Sees the bigger picture and aligns reliability initiatives with business goals
- People Leadership: Experience managing accountability, complex relationships and cultural change
