About the role
Specifically, the role entails:
- Preventative and planned maintenance (PPM): setting schedules, monitoring progress, reporting on performance and ensuring work is completed on time and to standard
- Maintenance: manage open work orders to completion; prioritise activities and balancing labour and budget
- Breakdowns: manage response to breakdowns, especially those impacting service levels; resource allocation; records management; fatigue management during critical breakdown repairs; ensuring critical parts are on hand
- Budget: ensure maintenance spend in line with budget; support for maintenance labour spend; escalate high cost repairs to Maintenance Manager
- Continuous improvement: building a culture where every team member looks for smarter, safer and more efficient ways of working
About you
Our ideal candidate holds a trade certificate in a relevant discipline such as Electrical, Fitting / Machining, or Boiler-making, and brings both technical capability and confident leadership to an industrial environment. You will also thrive in this role if you demonstrate:
- Proven experience in planning and scheduling maintenance activities (SAP or MEX experience will be highly regarded)
- Confidence in supervising teams operating under an enterprise agreement
- A solid understanding of maintenance budget management and cost control
- A strong commitment to safety, coupled with a genuine passion for continuous improvement
