About the role

The Assistant Site Manager at our grain terminal at Fisherman Island reports to the Site Manager and will assist in managing an operational workforce of permanent, casual and contractor staff that together deliver a safe and effective service across our cement import and handling operations.

Specifically, you will:

  • Assist in leading, developing and coaching a multidisciplinary team operating under an enterprise agreement
  • Perform and supervising daily operational activities of terminal operators involved in the import, storage and handling of cement
  • Support the management of fixed and mobile port assets
  • Coordinate the storage and throughput of all commodities in the terminal to ensure highest possible performance rates
  • Manage potential environmental risks associated with handling a range of products of a seaboard terminal.

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has experience supervising operations in the logistics / supply chain function of an industrial site along with:

  • Experience leading or managing a small team
  • Understanding of scheduling and cost-effectively managing assets and resources
  • Good understanding, knowledge and experience in operational aspects of safety, health and environment
  • Good computer literacy and capacity to learn and adapt to new technology, software and systems
  • Experience in supply chain operations or tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical.
