Australia is the world’s second largest exporter of Canola seed and GrainCorp is a significant player in the industry with a world-renowned crushing facility located in Numurkah, Victoria.
GrainCorp is currently seeking a Process engineer, to work at our Numurkah site. Join our engineering team as a Process Engineer, reporting to the CI & Process Engineering Manager and supported by a group of experienced engineering professionals, you’ll identify, implement, and deliver continuous improvement, cost optimisation and process efficiency solutions across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate improvements in process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve reliability across production systems
- .Reduction in downtime and resolution of recurring production issues through effective process troubleshooting.
- Timely and cost-effective delivery of capital and process improvement projects.
- Implementation of engineering solutions that contribute to long-term business goals and CI (Continuous Improvement) culture.
- Compliance with all SHE (Safety, Health & Environment), regulatory, and corporate standards.
- Positive engagement with operations team on facilitating process changes, coaching, and training initiatives.
About your experience
Candidates will ideally be qualified as a Chemical Engineer (or relevant Engineering Discipline), with prior experience in food / chemical manufacturing or a similar industry. Candidates will also display:
- Proven troubleshooting capability in process and production environments for at least a period of 3 years.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and numeracy skills with the ability to build data-driven justifications.
- Understanding of process control systems and automation
- Project management understanding and willingness to further develop in this area.
- High level of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working both independently and in a team.
