About our team
What did you have for breakfast today? Whether it’s the flour in your toast or the grain in your cereal, it’s highly likely that GrainCorp helped get it onto your plate.
As we find new ways to connect rural communities with food, animal feed and industrial customers around the world, we are proud to say we’re leading the way in sustainable agriculture. We’re keen to play an active part in the communities where we live and work. Have you seen the silo art sites in Australia? Half of those are GrainCorp sites. That’s just one of the many ways in which we create a connection with our communities.
As the Site Manager of our North Star grain storage and distribution site, you'll supervise a small team of Grain Handlers and perform a wide range of activities involved in the safe and efficient receival, storage and outload of commodities:
Coordinate day-to-day activities of the team; coach and support development of team members
Get to know, understand and apply our enterprise agreement and people processes
Develop and maintain close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
Coordinate and prepare for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
Identify and report on maintenance requirements and maintain site presentation and standards
Manage programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management.
Our busiest time of the year is the annual post-winter harvest period, which can last for up to three months and involves managing several harvest casuals and contractors in receiving thousands of tonnes of grain from local growers. It's an incredibly rewarding experience seeing local grain fill up silos and bunkers, delivered by diverse, hardworking and passionate teams.
