About the role

GrainCorp is currently seeking Trainee Draftsperson for an opportunity based at our Newcastle site. The role will be well suited to a student looking to start their career in agriculture as the role forms part of the IDM Team which provides delivery of capital expenditure projects, technical support and maintenance to the Grains team as a whole. The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Site measurement and survey of existing plant and equipment
  • The development of proposed concepts with the technical engineer
  • Redrafting of outdated drawings for the replacement of plant and equipment. 
  • General office and site assistance to the technical engineer
  • Detail drafting of equipment for manufacture

About your experience

Candidates will ideally be a student, seeking a trainee opportunity with an interest in agriculture. Candidates will also display:

  • Experience with design software (CAD or similar)
  • Computer literacy skills (MS suite including MS Project, Excel and Word)
  • Ability to travel and spend periods of time away from home location
  • Good communication skills

Progressed candidates will be required to provide proof of working rights and suitable professional referees.
