About the role
As our Moree Assistant Site Manager, you'll work closely with the Site Manager and a small team of Grain Handlers to keep the Moree site safe, organised and running smoothly. This is a hands on role where your energy, teamwork and willingness to jump in will really make a difference.
You will help support the day to day operation of the site, with responsibilities that include:
- Coordinating day-to-day workflow of the team and support to attract, select, train, and develop permanent and casual team members
- Developing and maintain relationships with growers, customers, local community groups and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with resource planning for grain receival / outload activity during peak and off-peak periods
- Supporting the planning and execution of scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, grain protection, safety and quality activities and related reporting
- Supervising a large seasonal workforce during our busy harvest intake periods, including at multiple sites.
About your experience
Our ideal candidate has plant operations experience gained in any industry, a strong safety mindset, and a genuine desire to make a positive contribution to the thriving agricommodities industry. You should also have:
- Some experience in supervising/leading teams (or the potential to)
- Previous grain handling experience is a bonus
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with a small, supportive team
- Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced operational environment
- An adaptable, proactive mindset- and the drive to take initiative when things get busy
