Find your passion, grow your potential and be part of our worldwide team.
About our team

GrainCorp connects more than 10,000 grain growers with local and international customers via Australia’s largest silo network, with a storage capacity of over 20 million tonnes, seven bulk port elevators and two specialty port terminals. Innovation, integration and partnership are the foundations on which we are growing into our second century with customers at the heart of all that we do.

Further diversification through acquisition led to the establishment of GrainCorp Oils in 2012. We are proud to be the largest integrated edible oils business in Australia and New Zealand, producing a wide range of quality food ingredients and animal feed products including specialist ingredients for infant nutrition.

About the role

As a Grain Handler for Merrywinebone you will be based remotely in the locality in far north-western New South Wales, Australia. It is the current terminus of the Pokataroo railway line, located in the Walgett Shire, and features a large grain storage facility of 230,000mt capacity.

Your duties will include all day-to-day grain storage and handling operations such as sampling and assessing, weighbridge operation, cleaning and fumigation. You will also assist with reconciling daily out-loading activities in the GrainCorp system. Some weekend and/or night work will be required at times.

Safety is a core value at GrainCorp and all employees are involved in continuous safety training and initiatives. The Company’s key objectives are to reduce risks and ensure a safe working environment for all our employees. You will be expected to drive safety within the team and ensure the mandatory PPE equipment is used and risk assessments are carried out to a high standard.

About your experience

Previous experience in an operational role in grain or agriculture more broadly is desirable. This is a very hands-on and manual role which will enable you to learn the day-to-day operations of the site. If you have a valid forklift, front-end-loader licence or other relevant tickets it would be highly regarded but not essential. If you have initiative, a great attitude and are a fast learner, this could be the role for you

Together we realise our potential.

At GrainCorp, we value and respect the different perspectives and experiences our people bring to work each day. We aim to increase the diversity of our workforce – leading to a range of different thinking, perspectives and ideas that create the innovation we need to drive better business results. We aim to have a work environment where everyone feels included and everyone can realise their full potential.
