As the largest grain storage and handling network on the east coast of Australia, we operate more than 150 regional receival sites and seven bulk port terminals. We store and market wheat, barley, canola, sorghum and specialty commodities, connecting over 10,000 growers with more than 1,000 end-market customers across the food, beverage, edible oils and animal feed industries. About the role


The GrainCorp Human Resources team enhances the employee experience, developing engaged and capable employees who proudly connect with customers and communities to deliver value.

We’re seeking a highly capable and motivated HR Business Partner to join us in a parental leave contract commencing early January, for 9-12 months (by negotiation). The position can be based flexibly from one of many Victorian port or country offices in a hybrid model. We’re also open to remote working, depending on your location.

You’ll report to our GM Human Resources in Sydney with a diverse portfolio comprising Victorian Country & Port Operations, Victorian Maintenance and Quality Assurance / Services. Together, this includes ~220 permanent FTE and a large seasonal workforce (combination of salaried and multiple EB / Award agreements).

Specifically, you will:
 

  • Partner with people leaders across your portfolio, providing thoughtful and best practice advice in areas relating to people and employee relations. Work in partnership with the business to provide specialist coaching, support and influence that enable leaders to effectively deliver their FY22 people plans
  • Work with the General Manager, HR to deliver best practice and commercially focused HR solutions that support the business in conjunction with specialist HR functions. Work cohesively with other HR teams to drive the delivery of key projects aligned with business strategy
  • Deliver key initiatives in line with the people calendar including remuneration and talent reviews. In FY22, this will include the opportunity to contribute to EBA planning / negotiations for our port operations and port maintenance.
     

About your experience


Our ideal candidate is tertiary qualified in human resources, with solid partnering experience gained in a large, commercial setting (manufacturing, industrial or supply chain a bonus). You should also have:
 

  • Demonstrated understanding and application of employment law and practice; ER/IR experience essential
  • High level interpersonal, communication, coaching, influencing and presentation skills
  • Proven planning and time management skills; ability to deal with / prioritise both strategic and day-to-day requirements
  • Ability and willingness to undertake travel across our Victorian operations, roughly 30% (full private use vehicle provided).

 

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a basic pre-employment medical and national police check. A current, valid driver’s licence is also required.
