Employment Type:  Fixed Term (Full Time)
Business Area:  Operations & Commercial

Marong, Victoria, AU

A shared passion for our people.

Our people can be proud that, as a leading international agri-business, we provide an increasingly important service across the food and beverage supply chain.

About our team

GrainCorp connects more than 10,000 grain growers with local and international customers via Australia’s largest silo network, with a storage capacity of over 20 million tonnes, seven bulk port elevators and two specialty port terminals. Innovation, integration and partnership are the foundations on which we are growing into our second century with customers at the heart of all that we do.

About the role

Reporting to the Quality Services Manager South and based from our regional office at Marong, we're seeking a Field Quality Officer to join us for an initial six month fixed-term contract to:

  • Provide technical support across country and port site sites covering an area of up to ~45 sites and 2-3M tonnes of receivals and exports
  • Process harvest, storage, outturn, and other grain samples as required to provide quality information to GrainCorp and customers
  • Maintain and calibrate quality testing equipment utilised at GrainCorp sites (for example, chondrometers)
  • Manage and/or support internal and external audit processes
  • Train and assess staff ensuring competency and compliance with training standards
  • Provide support to other areas in Quality Assurance and across the company
  • Carry out physical stocktake and quality stocktakes at country sites and where identified.
About your experience

Our ideal candidate has solid experience in grain quality assessment (including sound applied knowledge of receival and outturn standards and grain quality testing systems and procedures). Alternatively, you have a sound understanding of commodity testing including sampling methods and processes, testing equipment calibration and maintenance.

You should have excellent communication and planning skills. You ideally have ‘verifier’ training / accreditation (per Department of Trade Measurement licensing) though this is not essential. A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment would also be useful, though again not essential.

A current clean driver’s licence and the ability and willingness to travel frequently across Victoria (a tool of trade motor vehicle is provided as a requirement of this role) will be appreciated. Preferred candidates will be required to provide proof of working rights, suitable professional referees and will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical.

Do you share our passion for contributing to the success of a diverse, international team?
