About our team

GrainCorp Liquid Feeds is a leading manufacturer of molasses based supplements such as Molafos to the livestock industry across the East Coast of Australia. We are a small experienced team who work closely with and support one another ensuring we deliver on what we promise. Our sales team are critical to our success and ultimately drive the performance therefore work closely with management in developing and executing our strategies within the animal nutrition sector.

About the role

In this newly created role GrainCorp Liquid Feeds is seeking a Sales Representative with experience in territory management to join our small team. Ideally the person will have experience in the beef cattle industry in the Central Queensland area.With our Marian (Mackay) production plant increasing its pasture capacity by a further 30% in the next 6 months we require an energetic person who can hit the ground running. Their purpose will be to continue to build on our the existing customer base as well as importantly increase sales through lead generation and marketing. You will be supported throughout but not micro managed.

This exciting role will suit a person who enjoys dealing directly with graziers on farm as well as supporting our distributors. You will be ably supported by our logistics, formulation, nutrition and production teams. 

With an expectation of successful candidate being required to travel extensively using a company provided vehicle in according to GrainCorp’s policies. 

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Execute the sales strategy in molasses based supplements such as Molafos as guided by the Senior Sales Manager.
  • Drive market and sales growth, build new business, and maintain customer satisfaction among the existing customer base
  • Build a strong, cooperative relationships with livestock distributors and resellers
  • Work with the marketing  team to develop and execute marketing strategies
  • Work closely with Qld based mills (Mackay and Childers)

About your experience

Candidates will have prior sales experience in the beef cattle industry, ideally with an understanding of Animal nutrition. Candidates will also display:

  • Proven ability in closing sales and active lead generation 
  • Territory management skills and previous experience managing customer accounts
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of pasture management programs
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven capability of working both autonomously and within small teams.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of achieving sales targets using sound sales methodologies
    IT skills in MS office as well as CRM systems been desirable

​​​​​​​In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical. A current, valid driver’s licence is also required.
