Pest Control Officer - Emerald, Miles or Goondiwindi

About the role

GrainCorp is currently seeking several Pest Control Officers to join our Grain Protection team, we have roles based in Emerald, Miles and Goondiwindi. Reporting to the Grain Protection Supervisor, you will be responsible for monitoring and performing pest control and fumigation procedures. You will also be responsible for:

  • The general hygiene and cleanliness of GrainCorp storage facilities are maintained at a high standard.  
  • The core objective of the role is to ensure that grain is turned out free of insect infestation while working in a collaborative team environment and ensure all OHS procedures are adhered to.|
  • During peak harvest times, you will be expected to undertake general grain handling duties and supervising staff as well. 
  • This position will see you obtain the relevant grain handling and pest control qualifications and you will work with experienced staff members to gain a broad range of exposure to fumigation methods used in both bunker and permanent grain storages.


Position offered under our current enterprise bargaining agreement.
 

About your experience

Candidates will have prior experience in a pest control role or similar position and will hold a current drivers licence. Candidate should also demontrate:
 

  • Pest control certification
  • Computing / IT skills
  • You will be an independent worker with effective time management skills and a proactive outlook.


In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, preferred candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical.
