Maintenance Fitter - Emerald

Employment Type:  Permanent (Full Time)
Business Unit:  Operations & Commercial
Division:  Operations
Location:

Emerald, Queensland, AU

A shared passion for our people.

Our people can be proud that, as a leading international agri-business, we provide an increasingly important service across the food and beverage supply chain.

About our team

GrainCorp connects more than 10,000 grain growers with local and international customers via Australia’s largest silo network, with a storage capacity of over 20 million tonnes, seven bulk port elevators and two specialty port terminals. Innovation, integration and partnership are the foundations on which we are growing into our second century with customers at the heart of all that we do.

Further diversification through acquisition led to the establishment of GrainCorp Oils in 2012. We are proud to be the largest integrated edible oils business in Australia and New Zealand, producing a wide range of quality food ingredients and animal feed products including specialist ingredients for infant nutrition.

About the role

The Maintenance Fitter is based out of our primary site at Emerald in Central Queensland and undertakes moderate travel across our grain receival sites in this region (Mount McLaren, Capella, Emerald and east to Moura and Biloela) to perform general maintenance, repairs (such as to front end loaders, tractors, generators) and assisting with fixed installations and breakdowns.

A suitable relocation package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The position is offered at a Grade 5 under our current enterprise agreement which can be found here.

About your experience

The ideal candidate is trade qualified in mechanical fitting and ideally with experience in diesel plant/equipment repairs. We’ll appreciate your strong aptitude in fault-finding, diagnostics and problem solving as well as above-average communication skills.

Experience in the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment would be advantageous. As you’re going to be part of a critical team responsible for ‘keeping us running’, your flexibility to work some afternoons and nights and to be available for a reasonable amount of overtime (including weekends on occasion) will be most welcome.

If you have a medium or heavy vehicle licence, then this would be a welcome asset but otherwise you should at least have a clean, open licence.

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, preferred candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical.

Do you share our passion for contributing to the success of a diverse, international team?

At GrainCorp, we value and respect the different perspectives and experiences our people bring to work each day. We aim to increase the diversity of our workforce – leading to a range of different thinking, perspectives and ideas that create the innovation we need to drive better business results. We aim to have a work environment where everyone feels included and everyone can realise their full potential.
