As the largest grain storage and handling network on the east coast of Australia, we operate more than 150 regional receival sites and seven bulk port terminals. We store and market wheat, barley, canola, sorghum and specialty commodities, connecting over 10,000 growers with more than 1,000 end-market customers across the food, beverage, edible oils and animal feed industries. About the role

As the Site Manager / Supervisor of our Dalby West QLD grain storage and distribution site, you'll supervise a small team of Grain Handlers and perform a wide range of activities involved in the safe and efficient receival, storage and outload of commodities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of the team; coach and support development of team members
  • Get to know, understand and apply our enterprise agreement and people processes
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
  • Coordinate and prepare for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
  • Identify and report on maintenance requirements and maintain site presentation and standards
  • Manage programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management.

Our busiest time of the year is the annual post-winter harvest period, which can last for up to three months and involves managing several harvest casuals and contractors in receiving thousands of tonnes of grain from local growers. It's an incredibly rewarding experience seeing local grain fill up silos and bunkers, delivered by diverse, hardworking and passionate teams.

About your experience

This role is perfect for experienced plant operator / supervisor in any industry, or a great opportunity for a graduate starting their career in agriculture – either way, we’ll support you with training and expertise!! You’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow within our business and operations by demonstrating the following skills:

  • Ability to manage people (or the potential to)
  • Good computer literacy
  • Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Desire to learn and apply the required skills to become a successful Site Manager.

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical. A current, valid driver’s licence is also required.
