About the role
We are currently seeking a Grain Handler for our site in Bellata (working at other nearby sites as required) in a permanent capacity.
The core activities of a grain handler include:
- Sampling grain received at the site (spearing/probing using automatic or manual spears)
- Entering data into our system
- Receiving sampled grain via truck at the weighbridge and entering weights into our system
- Monitoring the flow of grain from truck unloading points
- Protecting and storing grain in bunkers or permanent silo storage (includes building, breaking-down & tarping bunkers)
- Sweeping, shovelling, blowing dust and other general housekeeping activities
- Operating equipment including augers, tractors, hoppers, loaders.
The type of work you undertake depends on the skills, experience, knowledge and tickets or licences you hold as well as the requirements of the site at which you’re based. These attributes also help determine the grade we might appoint you at under our enterprise agreement. The agreement will also set out any provisions available to you such as overtime and allowances, etc.

About your experience
Candidates will have prior experience in general labouring and have the ability to work in confined spaces at times. Experience in either agriculture, logistics, trades or construction. Candidates will also display:
- Good communication skills
- Safety-conscious behaviour
- A forklift, front end loader ticket or an HR Truck licence will be advantageous
- Reliability
- Computer literacy
