About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team on a 18-month fixed-term contract. You will be working from our Sydney Head office, located in Barangaroo, reporting into the Finance Manager - Financial Control. The role will assist in the preparation of statutory financial reports and ASX reporting for group compliance. This role will be offered on a hybrid working pattern; 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Managing the monthly general ledger reconciliation process, including the processing of transactions and journals as well as responsibility for maintaining the integrity of key balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsibility for maintaining the integrity of key balance sheet control accounts, including bank clearing accounts.
  • Provide reliable and timely reporting & analytical support to the Financial and Commercial Accounting Teams. This will involve compiling, interpreting and reporting of financial information.
  • Support for local jurisdiction statutory financial statements
  • Drive process and system improvements to enhance the financial reporting environment
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and group consolidation
  • Proactively support the Financial Accounting Manager and Financial Controller.
  • Point of contact for Key Finance Matters and technical accounting areas


About your experience
Our successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant with business partnering experience in a large organisation. Candidates will also display:  
 

  • Experience of ASX/ASIC reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and task prioritisation skills and experience
  • Self-motivated with initiative, takes responsibility for deliverables
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system highly desirable
