GrainCorp is currently seeking 2 Junior Data Engineers to join our team at our Barangaroo office. This role will work with a motivated and collaborative team to delivery data, infrastructure and platform activities to support advanced analytical use cases and reporting success.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Transform design and product vision into working solutions for end users, fostering a culture of sharing, reuse, scale stability, and user-first design.
- Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data engineering solutions for analytical use cases including architecture, data products/pipelines, and infrastructure using industry best practices.
- Stay up to date with new techniques and apply evolving industry standards to individual projects.
- Support continuous team growth.
About your experience:
Candidates will be able to demonstrate experience working on data engineering solution delivery with collaboration with other teams. Candidates will also display:
- Previous data, software or system engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python is a must.
- Foundation data engineering concepts including
- Data pipeline architecture and ELT/ELT processes
- Knowledge of data modelling principles
- Familiarity with relational databases and data warehousing concepts
- Exposure to big data tools frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop etc
- Familiarity with either Databricks or other cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP
- Knowledge on version control systems and collaborative development workflows
- Awareness of data governance principles such as data quality and data lineage
- Other desirable skills: Power BI, web app development, IoT, exposure to orchestration tools, basic experience with APIs for data integration
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM
