Harvest Your Potential with GrainCorp!
If you ask us, there's no better time to be working in agriculture – and with another bumper winter crop expected on the east coast of Australia, it's the perfect opportunity to #harvestyourpotential at GrainCorp.
Experience a 'taste' of working in the Australian grains industry by applying to join our harvest casual army for the 2022-23 harvest!
The harvest casual work we offer
Safely and efficiently moving millions of tonnes of grain into our receival sites across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria during harvest requires a big effort and focus from our teams. Growers must be able to deliver to our sites and turn back around to the header as quickly as possible – and our harvest casual workforce is crucial to that process.
That's why we're recruiting hundreds of casual workers across Queensland this year, to help us deliver an outstanding service to growers and customers.
The action typically commences around late September in Central Queensland and mid-October in Southern Queensland.
The casual work we offer includes general labouring, grain sampling, weighbridge operations and laboratory support, and we provide all the training you need (plus, you get paid for it!).
Portable Accommodation Allowance & Site Accommodation
Have you got your own portable accommodation (caravan / campervan / tent) and able to commit to four (4) weeks at an eligible GrainCorp site? You're in luck: we're offering a Portable Accommodation Allowance of $40 per day if you can secure your own campsite near an eligible GrainCorp site* in QLD.
Make sure you let us know in your application what accommodation you have and what sites you are willing to work at, and we will advise you during the recruitment process if you qualify for the allowance.
We also have limited accommodation available at selected sites* for use during harvest, and this will be on a first come, first serve basis, so let us know in your application if you want to access this accommodation.
*A list of eligible / selected sites are published further below, and are subject to change.
Important things to consider:
- You must be available to commence work with us from September, dependent on location
- You must have permission from a parent/guardian to apply, if you are younger than 18 years old (and you must be at least 15 years of age)
- You must be an Australian citizen or hold a valid work visa and provide proof of your right to work
- You must be capable and willing to work in an outdoor and shift work environment.
