Auscol provides equipment, transport and service solutions for the collection and upcycling of used cooking oil, from an extensive customer base across Australia, covering metropolitan, regional and remote areas. To support our customers we supply storage tanks, operate a fleet of specialised vacuum trucks and maintain an extensive and unrivalled inland and portside processing and bulk storage network across Australia. Auscol is compliant with International Standards of Quality Systems (ISO certification for Safety, Quality & Environment), International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) as well as Feed Safety accreditation (ARA). This provides our customers confidence that their used cooking oil is being managed responsibly.

About the role

Auscol is seeking a National Business Development Manager to join our team based in either Melbourne or Sydney. The purpose of the role is to lead the continued development and execution of the sales and marketing strategy, working closely with existing major customers, identifying and securing new business, as well as working closely with and supporting States teams. There is an expectation of the successful candidate being required to travel interstate, once restrictions allow.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Build long term strategic/partnership relationships with new and existing customers
  • Identification of and successful sourcing of new business  
  • Development and delivery of professional proposals and presentations
  • Delivery of formal account management programs 
  • Support the ongoing development of national and state-based strategies.

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has prior experience in either waste, recycling, edible oils, used cooking oil, bulk liquids transport or similar services industries. Additionally, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated track record of national, multi state and major customer business development and relationship management
  • Experience selling into a wide range of decision makers, including within large corporate customers, large private companies (eg. franchisees), as well as private enterprises
  • Proven strong relationship development manager with strong conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Sound negotiation skills and the ability to secure win-win deals and capable of closing the long-term contracts
  • Ability to create and implement strategic account development plans for new and existing business
  • Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical. A current, valid driver’s licence is also required.
