About our team

We are Saxon Agriculture, a UK-based seed and grain merchant. We specialise in the trade, import and export of cereals, oilseeds and pulses and are a leading supplier of arable seeds and organic agriproducts in the UK. We have integrated operations across seed sales and contract seed production, merchanting of cereals, pulses and oilseeds, merchanting of organic grain and feed-products, in-house supply chain logistics, all backed by end-to-end quality assurance.

About the role

Reporting to Saxon’s Wheat Trader and working closely with our trading, business development, transport, compliance and quality teams, the Logistics Scheduler is one of four team members who undertake the following core activities involved in the execution of conventional and organics grain contracts:

  • Work with traders, customers (farmers and consumers), schedulers, hauliers, storekeepers and administration teams to ensure effective scheduling and execution of contracts
  • Oversee the scheduling of grain in/out of stores including the administration of weights, ensuring all applicable costs are fully recovered
  • Contact growers regarding collection of grain and again after execution of contract, advising trading/buying team of any additional tonnage available
  • Take claims from end receivers, process this in our system and pass onto suppliers, ensuring all costs are charged as per contract specifications
  • Run weekly reports for traders overseeing completion of contracts, rolling of balances and applying monthly carries where applicable; also run reports associated with scheduling, suppliers and supply chain compliance
  • Support Saxon day-to-day transport tasks such as bookings and issue resolution.

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has experience in logistics/supply chain administration gained in any industry. Alternatively, you’ll have a tertiary qualification in agriculture, supply chain, business/commerce or similar and a keen desire to contribute to a thriving agricultural trading / supply chain business.
