GrainCorp Liquid Terminals is a leader in the storage and handling of bulk liquids including edible oils, fats, chemicals and liquid feeds. We’re strategically placed shoreside in New Zealand, providing efficient loading and unloading of shipping and bulk transport, storage and discharge of a variety of products.


About the role
GrainCorp is seeking a Terminal Manager, based at our Tauranga site, to manage the site and staff while ensuring that we provide industry leading liquid storage and handling facilities in a cost-efficient manner. The Terminal manager will ensure that the site meets regulatory and internal expectations around health, safety and the environment. The responsibilities of the role also includes:
 

  • Providing industry leading levels of service for both internal and external customers in the handling of liquid feeds (including molasses), tallow and edible fats
  • Staff management and leadership of a small team. This will include one-on-ones, tool box talks, performance management, SHE and leave planning
  • Meeting both internal and external audit requirements, including MPI Audits to ensure regulatory guidelines are adhered to and risks are mitigated
  • Managing site assets and ensuring that preventative maintenance checklists are implemented
  • Completing reports using SAP and Excel including stock takes and product movements
  • Managing terminal budgets 


About your experience
Candidates will have prior experience working in a similar management role at a port, with liquid terminal experience being highly beneficial. Candidates will also display experience in: 
 

  • Personnel management 
  • Working with shipping lines 
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation, particularly experience in completing risk assessments
  • SAP as well as Microsoft packages
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
