About the role
GrainCorp is currently seeking a General Manager of Procurement. Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation & Growth Officer, a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), this pivotal role entails developing and implementing a strategic procurement plan and operating model. The objective is to drive cost-effective procurement practices, optimizing spending, and achieving significant cost reductions. Responsibilities include:
 

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with departments such as finance, operations, and commercial to ensure seamless integration of procurement strategies with broader organizational goals
  • Establishing and nurturing robust relationships with key suppliers, fostering partnerships that ensure reliable supply chains, deliver quality products, and secure competitive pricing
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with procurement activities
  • Spearheading the adoption of innovative procurement technologies and best practices
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

 

About your experience
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a senior procurement role within a corporate environment, preferably with multi-category procurement exposure. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate:
 

  • Proven ability to develop strategic frameworks and operational models for the procurement division
  • Strong commercial acumen to drive effective procurement practices and enhance overall expenditure management
  • Understanding of the complexities associated with managing a geographically dispersed organization
  • Proficiency in change management methodologies
  • Experience within an ASX listed environment would be beneficial
  • Experience with systems transformation  would be beneficial
