About the role

As the Site Manager of our Quambatook grain storage and distribution site, you'll supervise a small team of Grain Handlers and perform a wide range of activities involved in the safe and efficient receival, storage and outload of commodities:
 

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of the team; coach and support development of team members
  • Get to know, understand and apply our enterprise agreement and people processes
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
  • Coordinate and prepare for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
  • Identify and report on maintenance requirements and maintain site presentation and standards
  • Manage programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management.


Our busiest time of the year is the annual post-winter harvest period, which can last for up to three months and involves managing several harvest casuals and contractors in receiving thousands of tonnes of grain from local growers. It's an incredibly rewarding experience seeing local grain fill up silos and bunkers, delivered by diverse, hardworking and passionate teams.

About your experience
You'll succeed in this role if you've had experience in plant operations (ideally the Grain industry) and:
 

  • Experience supervising, supporting and developing workgroups / individuals
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational demands
  • Capacity to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Current unrestricted driver licence and basic IT literacy.
