Servicing more than 350 markets in more than 50 countries, we originate grain from Australia, Canada, the UK and Ukraine, and connect directly with customers through overseas offices in Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai and Delhi. With seven ports on east-coast Australia and a joint-venture port in the final stages of construction in Vancouver, Canada, we offer high-speed long-distance rail export capability.

Our processing businesses service foods customers with edible oils that are specially blended for infant formula, bakery and large-scale food manufacture.

Our bulk commodity business is Australia and New Zealand’s largest exporter tallow and Used Cooking Oil (UCO), some of which is processed for upcycling into biofuel. Meanwhile, our feeds businesses use edible oils and molasses-based products to boost farm productivity.

About the role

We have a Financial Accountant contract available for approximately 15 months working three days a week to cover Parental Leave. This would be a great position for someone wanting to work from home for all three days as this role offers a high level of flexibility (however you are welcome in the office as well!)

You will join a team of 3 where your primary responsibilities are:

  • Assisting with the monthly general ledger reconciliation process, including the processing of transactions and journals as well as responsibility for maintaining the integrity of key balance sheet accounts.  
  • Providing reliable and timely support to the Financial and Commercial Accounting Teams. This will involve compiling and reviewing financial information.
  • Drive process and system improvements to enhance the monthly financial reporting environment
  • Proactively support the Financial Accounting Manager and Commercial Finance teams

About your experience

Our successful applicant will bring to the team exceptional attention to detail and problem resolutions skills.  Desirable, but not essential would be experience working within the Agribusines Industry. 

Other key skills we are looking for include;

  • Accounting qualifications / working towards one & minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance role
  • Self-motivated with initiative, takes responsibility for deliverables
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong task prioritisation skills and experience
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
